15 Aug “La Ponderosa” Mint Condition – 76 year old Norton
I acquired this beautiful 76 year old motorcycle 5 years ago from one of the more senior(80 plus years) members of our club. He knew I had a special place in my “DNA” for Norton motorcycles, since I had already owned a pristine 1974 Commando 850. The “36” was suppose to have gone to a museum 15 years ago, but Peter( the gentleman I purchased it from) made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. And the rest is history! It looked in mint condition outside, but wasn’t running when I purchased it, and to my surprise it needed a lot of attention. I still don’t have the nerve to add up all the invoices and time spent on getting her running and in Concourse condition inside and out. To me it was a labour of “Love” and I hope everyone at the festival will enjoy her as well. Her name is “La Ponderosa” in honour of Che Guevara from the movie “The Motorcycle Diaries”
Cheers Brian.
