25 Aug 51 Bel Air Barn Find
I bought this 51 Chev Bel Air for $600 in 1984 when I was 21 years old from an Alberta graduate student who drove it to Anten Mills for summer work. It was cosmetically very rough, but fairly solid behind all the dents and surface rust, and it ran – I drove it home. I spent the next two years restoring it, and drove it daily for several summers following. Then it went into barn storage (first other peoples, and then my own which was built for storing and working on old cars) for the next 20 years while I was busy with studies, family and work. Back on the road now as a daily driver, the mechanical and electrical workings of the car have been rebuilt, with the next phase being paint and chrome.
