29 Mar Out Of Retirement: Retro Resto Mod ’59 Chevrolet Corvette
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Creemore Valley Classics Stories #29
My Corvette was purchased as a replacement for my 1957 Chevrolet. Belair Convertible, that burned to the ground from a garage fire when I was eighteen. I found this vette rottening in a yard and I was able to buy it and worked on it till I got it into the condition good enough to be a first place winner at Speedsport in 1973 and 1974. After that, I put away in storage.
I’ve had other cars over the years, but the Corvette as always had a special place in my heart for me. Marriage and countless home renovations had kept me from getting the Vette road ready again.
When I turned 68 years old, I finished my retirement home and in the Wasaga Beach. With home reno’s out of the way, I decided that before I die, I wanted to see and drive my Vette again.
I put 10 months of work into it during 2016 to get it running again. This is an old restoration style from the 70’s. Right down to the metal flake interior.
